About

The idea of First Mondays arose after the tragic events of 9/11, when New Yorkers stood ready to heal and help each other. As a social networking event, First Mondays has been able to help generate a spirit of rejuvenation and community for over six years.

Now, First Mondays has transformed into the live networking component of a Non-Profit Foundation (“I Can Still Do That”), with each live meeting helping to promote positive thinking – celebrating the resiliency of the human spirit.

Continuing and expanding on the altruistic efforts which arose in New York City after 9/11, this new program aims to develop inter-generational workforce teams, foster “mutual mentor” relationships, provide opportunities for continued adult education, and create new business models and Green Jobs. We hope to roll-out First Mondays to other major cities in 2009-2010. Volunteers are always welcome.
